Started in the 1950s by British Doctor A.T Simeons, this protocol is based around the HCG hormone. Dr. Simeons who is largely responsible for curing
Maleria, discovered that this hormone allows pregnant women to nourish their unborn even while consuming a low amount of calories.
The two main components of the diet include regular injections of HCG and a 800 -1200 calorie daily diet of limited food choices.
Advocates of the diet believe that the injections of HCG allow a dieter to reduce the side effects typically associated with a low-calorie diet, such as hunger. Taking his research further, Dr. Simeons studied the effects of HCG on weight loss. During his studies,
it was noticed that when small doses of HCG were administrated, without a diet and without weight loss, changes in the body
measurements occurred, hips and waist became smaller. At first, it was thought that this was due to redistribution of water.
Later it was established that it was once body fat is made fluid, nutrition can be released to the bloodstream, reducing hunger,
and waste flushed from the system.
The HCG is given by injection or drops until the weight loss goal is met, and then for a month or so afterward during the “maintenance cycle.
After the maintenance cycle is complete, patients are put on a strict menu program that is nutritionally balanced and includes
the correct caloric count to keep the pounds off during the long term.
In thousands of cases, it was found that patients receiving HCG by injection were able to live comfortably on a very low
calorie diet without the usual accompaniments of hunger, weakness, or irritability.
